5 Proven Door Knocking Tips Every Agent Should Know

Here are my 5 simple door knocking success tips for when you go door knocking…
1.Create a flyer with service providers and hand it out. On the back of the directory have the recent sales data on the street. It adds more value and gives you something to hand over even if the conversation is short. Make sure you know the local stats too! Start with, “Hi, I’m [Name], I’m handing out the local vendor directory to all the neighbors…”
2.Know your neighbor demographics and knock when that set of people are mostly home. Younger, Boomers, Luxury… I used to knock mid-morning on Saturdays when people are more relaxed at home, it increases face-to-face chances. Will people get mad? Yes some will, but that’s part of it. Don’t do it if it’s something that makes you feel unsafe either.
3.Ask your title partner for a walking farm list by street so you don’t waste time skipping addresses. Know what streets you’ll be knocking and get to know the area.
4.Track every door you visit in your CRM, even if no one answers, so you can return strategically later. Lofty makes it super easy with their app!
5.End each visit with, “What’s your email so I can add you to the neighborhood newsletter?” Many future leads come from that moment, just make sure to send out the newsletter weekly or monthly. Stay consistent.
